Feathers

This mixed media drawing is a real favourite of mine, because I love the textures and intense colours of the cockerels feathers. They are such majestic and stunning birds, so I really hope I have done him justice and captured the bold luxurious plumage colours.

This style of work is also something I enjoy doing, there is something very satisfying about applying layers of ink and acrylics and pastels and seeing the materials react together, and then draw the design, pull out the features and add highlights to a piece.
